The stories of the Bible are woven together to create a rich, full tapestry exhibiting God’s character, love for His creation – primarily us humans – and redemption of all that He has created. That redemption is only offered through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who was both fully man and fully God as part of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Salvation through Christ is a free gift. Being a disciple of Christ, however, costs everything. I choose to be numbered among Jesus’ disciples, and try to live my life accordingly so that the fruit of my life might glorify God.
Politically I have no party affiliation, having been turned off in recent years by the extreme polarization of major party ideologies. I lean toward moderation with respect to social justice activism, albeit what some view as a charity issue I see as a justice issue when held up to the light of Scripture. We are meant to be active in our communities and the broader world, helping to create a place of peace and prosperity for all (Jeremiah 29:7).
I have regularly attended a wide gamut of Christian worship services, from Lutheran to Calvary Chapel, Church of Christ, EV Free, Presbyterian, Baptist, Anglican, even a Catholic church and a Messianic Jewish synagogue. In each place I have encountered Christ in a special way, which has contributed to my strong tendency toward the Ecumenical movement among Christ-centered churches. I describe myself as an orthodox Christian (aligning with traditional beliefs) with contemplative leanings, deeply committed to spiritual formation in order to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
It is my hope that through the content and integrity of my faith-based writing and lifestyle, I might be used as a stepping stone on the reader’s path to a personal encounter with the one and only true and living God.
